Westside Chapel
Meet Pastor Terry ...
Unlike a lot of Calvary Chapel pastors, Terry Roberts grew up right here in the northwest. He says "that might be worth something--kind of like being a Foster Farms chicken".
As a youngster, Terry learned early to play guitar and had his first working rock band when he was in the 8th grade. They played around the Tri Cities for dances, parties, and even in a couple of bars. At 15, Terry came to Christ, quit the rock band and began what has become a life long pursuit of God's Word.
After going to Bible College, Terry served on staff at Calvary Chapel Spokane for several years under the direction of Ken Ortize. He then pastored Calvary Chapel Port Townsend for seven years. Family needs brought him back to the Inland Northwest in '93, where for a number of years Terry taught Driver's Training (!) at Mead and Mount Spokane High Schools. In 1996, Calvary Chapel Cheney (now Westside Chapel) called Terry to replace their former pastor.
"If God can use a young, rock-star-wanna-be who was filled with doubts & insecurities, God can use you too!" Pastor Terry says. "Dig into His Word, hear His voice speaking to you. He loves you. And commit to memory what has become my life verse..."
'Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.'
(Proverbs 3: 5, 6)
